Writing paper box (ryoushibako) in cinnabar-lacquered wood.

Surface of this writing paper box was coated with cinnabar lacquer, and sandalwood on the inside. SHIPPOUTSUNAGIMONYOU with peony and 4 different circles on all corners of a circle were expressed on the surface of the cinnabar-lacquered box with sunken gold. In general, the writing paper box is paired with the inkstone case. Therefore, it was considered that the inkstone case came with the original set when it was produced. Cinnabar lacquerware with sunken gold is considered as the high-class ware since it was used for ceremonies in the Ryukyu Kingdom.
